When you need a bird’s eye view of the Destin airport, what’s there to do but ask for help, of course!
Okaloosa County Airports Projects Coordinator Ray Beasley stood atop the Destin Airport terminal today to give Paxton’s aerospace students a birds-eye view of the airport through a Microsoft Teams teleconference. The aerospace 1 students are participating in a Federal Aviation Administration sponsored contest to develop a plan and build an airport in Minecraft and reached out to Beasley for assistance for information about their chosen model airport- the Destin-Ft. Walton Beach airport.
From his location atop the terminal, students were able to view the airport layout, see planes boarding at the terminal and see several jets take off from the runway. Beasley explained the areas of the airport, shared with students about expansion projects currently underway, and discussed technology on the horizon for airports. “We are continuously blessed by industry professionals who give so unselfishly to help train tomorrow’s aerospace professionals in our program,” explained program teacher Heather Stewart. “We can’t thank Mr. Beasley for going above and beyond today to share with our students.”
